GLOBAL TERRORISM WARNING
You should be aware of the risk
of indiscriminate terrorist attacks in
public places anywhere in the world. Be
vigilant, and take sensible precautions.
Diving
is possible all year round, with the best months being March
/ April / May and September / October / November when seas
are calmest, the visibility can be over 30 meters and water
temperatures reach
29 C° to 34 C°. We recommend a
3mm shortly wetsuit for all diving activities. Sites vary in
depth from 2 to 30 meters (by the Maldivian law, diving
below 30m is prohibited) and provide conditions for
divers of all abilities. There are delicate coral reefs,
impressive granite formations, schools of fish and an
assortment of wreck dives. The offshore dive sites are
suitable for more experienced divers with the chance to
encounter the larger visitors including whale sharks and
manta rays.
Visitors
to the Addu can hardly be expected to stay dry and going
diving is the very best thing to do while here. If you have
never dived before or want to update your diving
certificates, this has to be one of the best places to do
it. There are only a handful of diving operators in the Addu
Atoll and these all are fully equipped diving shops. The
“diver land” is fully affiliated with PADI, NAUI, SSI and
CMAS and employs PADI, NAUI, SSI or CMAS diving instructors.
So you can be assured of finding trained and well-qualified
professional diving instructors.
